Realism - The Unknown Pain

The Unknown Pain

Materials: Pencil on paper

Realism art is detailed art which depicts nature or contemporary life.  To display an art piece that represents Realism, I decided to draw the figure of a woman.  Using a series of pencils, consisting of 2B and 6B, I drew this image.  First, I drew the image of the woman using the 2B penicl, and then to shade I used the 6B pencil, which is easier to smudge with.

This drawing captures the emotion in the woman and displays the feeling of sadness.  The feeling of sadness is displayed in the positioning of the woman's head, how it is facing downwards, hidden, not being shown to the audience.  I feel that people may be able to relate to this drawing because, at times, people may feel sad.  They may feel as if they want to be alone, and just with their thoughts.  I believe that this is how the woman in the drawing is feeling.

My inspiration was from this drawing of a woman.   As I looked at this image, I felt sad and as if the woman was experiencing pain in her life.  Because this drawing made me feel emotional, I was inspired to recreate it.

Be happy.
